bike stalls , wait a few minutes and runs perfect
Wondering if anyone can help me? I have a 2008 sucker punch sally, with s&s carb a VOES system and crane dual fire ignition. Bike has no computers and is as bare bones as possible.
Bike starts just fine, ride for about 10 minutes I get a backfire then it stalls out, try to start bike it cranks but does not start, I get a backfire like it’s about to start, wait a few minutes and it starts just fine. also went to get gas and after I fueled up the bike would not start, waited a few minutes and started and ran perfect, I rode for a about 4 hours with no issues and ran perfect. Another time I went start it and would not start at all, emptied carb bowl and it started perfect and ran for an hour no issues. I’ve put a new carburetor on, same one as before (s&s) same jets same settings . Rode the bike twice for an hour each time no issues. Took it out yesterday and same thing again, backfire and a few minutes into my ride it stalled, waited and started with no problem. All the electrics are on. I’ve tested ignition coil and it’s fine, checked VOES and it’s fine. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this.

Does the bike have any circuit breakers on it? I've had a similar issue and it turned out the circuit breaker was defective. Circuit breakers degrade/wear out over time. Circuit breaker may be opening slightly after a period of time since it gets hot, then cools and closes again.

I had a similar issue with a carb twin cam with custom tank. I ended up pulling the tank to paint and upon draining it and removing the petcock, I found somedebris in the petcock. It was floating around and would randomly block the fuel. It always made me wonder, because I would see air bubbles in the clear fuel line after it did it, squeezed the line a few times and voila, I had fuel in the line. Turns out it was pushing the debris away from the petcock and allowing flow again. Weird as hell.
