Meter reader trike AMF era
It should be 3 speed with reverse. The alternator hanging off the frame is how they did it in the later years when they added the electric starter. Give that setup a look!??!?! You would thing some guys did it in their garage, very cobbled together, but factory. Same with the alternator. They knew her days where numbered and they where not putting R&D money into a 40 year old design.
The old Harley's I like most are the ones people used to earn a living, to run earns ect.
Like the Sperry cars and old sidecars. Work horses that earned their keep.
Friend of mine says my sidecar doubles as a pick truck.

I still have it, currently trying to sell it to help fund there wagon my father left me. It does have all fenders and box and original front forks. If your interested in buying I'm in Olympia Washington.
Again, thanks for the info.
My next step is go and get an idea of what parts are there. See the paperwork. Get the numbers off the bike. What his plan is and if it's for sale.
Is it a 3 sp with reverse?
What's with the chev alternator?
He said it has a Ford solenoid.
He's a younger guy mid 30's.
Bike might be from Oregon.
His Dad passed away is how he got it.

Harley Davidson Servicar, built until 1973.
Mechanically it looks complete, but the front end is after market and of course all of the body work is missing. Not sure if the VIN # on the motor starts with the model year after 1970, should follow the factory method, so the last two would give us the year. Unless it is 1969 or older, than yeh left side of the motor under the carb is the VIN#.
Current market price, with paper work and running, maybe $5k. Going to cost to get her back to stock, even the later fiberglass boxes go for over $1k. Maybe you could sell the front end to a Chopper Kid for some return on your investment. For me, I would look for an older one with the metal box, no alternator and electric start. They are just answers looking for a question.

It's mine and I have everything for it. Including front forks. Title in hand. I moved to Olympia Washington.
I understand. But "Clayjenson" posts pictures, says he is looking to buy it, asks for advise etc. on 5/18/23.
Over one year later a newby "Lancek": with only 3 posts all on the same thread pops up and says "I still have it...."
This is what I am inquiring about. Besides the fact that a new guy with a low post count is always suspicious, I do not see the link between Clay and Lance. And he claims to have put it all back together mostly, but does not provide pics.
Lastly, 75% of the bike scams on the internet someone are all in Washington state. Is it already in a shipping crate?
Maybe I am completely off base and the gentleman is legit. Inquiring minds want to know.

Lancek,
Looks like your the guy that has the trike.
I was at your house in Olympia.
I posted here inquiring about it as i had not seen one before.
I don't know if you can PM me yet being a new member.
Probably not wise posting your name and phone number on here so i can contact you.
I can't recall details where you live either.
Can you look up the date I was there from paperwork? I can search that and probably get info to contact you on my end.
post the date here.
