Default Buying a Thunder Mountain?

I'm looking at bikes and I'm contemplating Thunder Mountains. Thing is I have no idea about what I can or should pay for one as there is not alot of pricing info out there. What is a median price for a 2005 Blackhawk 240?

Also, if you have any for or against reasons for getting / not getting a TM, feel free to post!

Thanks,
Drew

This will boil down to personal preference at the least. My complaints about the thunder mountain thing is lack of engine mods when new. They were trying to compete in a market place of 107 cube motors etc. with all of the other builders of the time frame using ultima and S@S for power. So you have this custom with a stock engine on most of their builds

I cant really complain of construction or anything else but it seems the pricing on them is a little high for what you get in comparison to what its worth when you are done. The custom lines have been soft

there are several members on this site who own them.I looked at several a few years back but most of the guys when they posted OBO on craigslist they thought people would be clawing the doors down to buy.Not OBO because they needed it gone. Most still owed high teens on a 5 year old motorcycle .Dream Machines seems to come up with a bunch of these bikes call and ask their pricing--------------then see how long the bikes hang around(same with any custom build though)

I would go into it thinking.......I know these are early model twin cams. Good motors but I am immediately going to drop a grand on it updating the cam chain tensioners and cam plate. Also I am probably going to have to change at least one thing cosmetically. With that being said price negotiate with some room for play. Also most of these guys bought a store bought custom with some gaudy paint job. It's amazing how much better and cleaner these bikes can look with a simple paint job and normal handlebars/tank
