Question Neglected road dirty chrome.

Question for all you up to date clean freaks, got a bike that the guy has rode for 4 years without a bath. It got a paint wipe down occasionally from what I see but the chrome while not damaged or rusted is not cleaning up with the usual cleaners, raw simple green barely touches the gunk on it.

Anything out there besides the old standby Turtle Wax Chrome cleaner and lot of bad language ? Gonna be a bear and some sore elbows that way.

And please no steel wool tips that ain't happening.

I just looked at a 2014 Deluxe for sale that would need same attention on spokes, rims, other chrome bits.

tagged for interest

Well, you tried my first idea. I use super strong/nearly straight Purple Power, or another degreaser, and let it soak and drip off.

You are going to have to break out the elbow grease, and some Brasso, brother!

I would try an application of S100 spray cleaner, follow directions and rinse well. I have seen it clean some pretty nasty bikes, it may take more than one dose but should get thru the heavy crud and make the polishing easier.

S100 didn't touch it. Not impressed with that stuff anyway.

If you could only find a way to put that grime in a spray can. Take it to Sturgis and sell it in the trailer parking area.
