Default Rain X on windshields..No...No...No

Don't be so stupid to put Rain X on you'r windshield. The alcohol in rain x actually melts into the windshield leaving swirl marks that cannot be removed. How do I know this? I was the dummy who did it. New windshield on order from Harley.

Use pledge furniture polish. Works well, does what you wanted from the rain-x and bugs just slide off when you clean it.

The best idea is to never use anything that doesnt state "safe for Harley windshields".

I'm pretty sure it's ok for Clearview shields. It all depends on whats in it and what the windshield is made of.
