Default Need Some Advice!!

OK - I was trying to be helpful, really! Hubby got some gunk from his shoes/chaps on the pipes and I scrubbed it off but left some fine scratches![]Is there a way to fix it? Or should I just go pay for my cemetary plot? []And there's still some gunk on there that I need to get off and wondered how to do it without scratching it anymore! Thanks for the help!

Pipes or heat shields? Heat shields are a lot less expensive.

It will be difficult to repair chrome plating with deep scratches because it's a coating. If it were just an uncoated metal you could sand it with varying grades of sandpaper to high shine, but you aren't that lucky. You can try using a heavy, medium, and fine cut-cleaner, which is normally used on paint, but may work to finely cut down the surrounding plating and give it a smooth look again. This will take some elbow grease and time to do.
