2011 FXDC Value
I have been eyeballing a 2011 FXDC at a local dealership. It appears to have the stage 1 kit, with bags and a windshield. Question is, which book is the better guide for pricing. KBB our NADA, not a huge difference but about $700. Obviously I prefer the lower one, but if it's not realistic I should disregard it.
Thanks for your input.

What I do is I check with both to have a idea then I try to get them down to that price. Some dealers like to pump up the price because of the style of bike (being poplar seller) or other crazy reasons.
They use neither of them 2.
They have their own book they go by and it is always more than nada or kbb for a sale but lower than those 2 if they are taking a trade in.

Forget the accessories, they have little value on a used bike. What you didn't tell us is how many miles are on the bike and what the asking price is, overall condition, service history, etc.
The other thing to consider is when you buy the bike, Bright sunny days do add dollars. Keep track of when the dealer needs to unload inventory and you would be surprised at how much the price changes.
Bags, windshield and engine "upgrades" have nothing to do with trade in value, so don't let it get you on resale value because it adds nothing.
It's going to be a 4 year old bike with no warranty. Try and get it for less than $10k and walk away a winner. My 2012 was $12,500 brand friggin new off the showroom floor. And that was going on 3 years ago...
NADA is a guide for stealerships and KBB is more or less intended for the public. And they are GUIDES not the bible....
