new mikuni carburetor
#2
The stock CV carb generally has 1 or 2 pilot and main jets that are good. The Mikuni has much more variability.
I found the out-the-box jets were waaaay off and fitting the recommended jets for my bike weren't much better. it was only when I put the bike on a dyno with an O2 sniffer did I get a decent tune and it was nothing like what it was fitted with or the recommended ones.
Basically, you can either mess about and hope for the best (and waste money and power) or do a proper job and set it up on a dyno.
After I did it properly it was an excellent carb.

Do a test fit and and check carb to Fins clearance, I had to file some off for a good fit, make sure you install the choke cable properly, out of the box ran fine for me, I have SE203 cams and stage 1 air cleaner and pipes, I plan on getting it dynoe'd in the future to get the most out of it
