I've got the fork brace covered, but how does the top mount differ from stock?
The OEM top stabilizer has rubber bushings and I always believed it allowed for a bit of movement. I installed the solid stabilizer, confirmed alignment, and did a road test. In rapid left/right counter-steering the chassis has a solid feel, in sweeping corners the bike is neutral, no pushing or mid-corner corrections. The Predator front along with the solid top stabilizer have really made positive changes to the bike's handling and stability. The solid stabilizer does transfer more vibration to the chassis but it's not at all unpleasant; I like it I'll go through the Sputhe Rube Goldberg ordering process and get the rear mount to complete the job this winter.
Now that CCE fork brace, whoa. I always knew there'd be some fork flex and softness but now this thing is on rails, bar input is immediate, that 'compliance' is gone. There's going to be a bit of re-training, muscle memory had me turning in too quickly; I was used to that flexing softness of those +2" over Wide Glide tubes. Now, that's gone and the smallest bar input has an instant reaction...
It fit on F86's 2000 FXDX but on my '13 it was a shade too long at its most closed position to fit correctly so I needed to slightly shorten the stainless steel turnbuckle on each end and cut the heim joint studs on each end to get it to properly fit.
Once that was done I was able to get my vertical alignment to 0.00...
