Default flush mount gauge on a street bob question

I just purchased and installed the hd flush mount gauge and gas cap on my 2010 street bob. Installation was easy and I love the look. Every thing is working as it should on the gauge but I noticed that my remaining miles function on the speedo just reads low now. Is this normal with this installation and is there something I can do to fix it?

There is no way that the flush mount fuel gauge install would affect the stock console. 2 completely separate wiring systems. If your speedo remaining mileage reads low, you are barking up the wrong tree.

Take it for a ride. It should reset unless you need fuel.

Yup took it for a ride and within a few miles all is back to normal. I guess just a brief panic on my part. Thanks for the replys.

Yeah cause the "miles until empty" has nothing to do with how much fuel is in your bike......

Any time you change out fuel gauge or speedo this needs "reset". Like you figured out no biggie.
