The paint on the induction tube is dry enough to install, so here it is...

I know this style AC is non traditional and certainly isn't for everyone, but for me it's form following function. I tried a couple other ACs and they all interfere badly with my knee. This one doesn't.

Very nice did you build ac or buy it that way very clean looking setup

I built the tube. The filter is a modified (dyed black) K&N. The tube has cam lock slots in it and I pressed pins into the carb that lock it together. The band clamp is extra security.

Kinda hard to see but here is the top lock and pin.

Nice build. This is the beauty of the 99 FXDWG. It can be made into the exact bike any owner desires. I am excited to see where she winds up.

Wow just read the whole thread from my post on the first page. For a guy who wasn't sure of his plan (or so you said at the time), this is turned into an incredibly cool build. Hats off to a craftsman and excellent family man!

Fwiw, neither my 9 yr old son nor wife enjoy helping me with my wrenching this has both reminded and inspired to find a summer project of some sort for my son and I to do together.

Thanks again for the great build, keep the pics coming, looking forward to a ride report soon!

Thanks. My ex wife wasn't into this type of thing and neither is my oldest son (21). The older boy can't even change his oil. I offered to teach him something every time I went out to the garage but he always declined. He's more an artistic and gamer type. That's OK. We shared interests besides mechanical things.

Not much happening worth pictures. Been plugging away at the final details that everybody hates.

- Installed plate mount for the final time.
- Installed shocks and tail lights/brackets.
- routed plug wires and terminated. Finished assembling electrical box innards.
- put oil in all three holes. No leaks.
- Installed the pipes and test fired. No start.
- Troubleshoot ignition. Found the coil triggers reversed. Fixed.
- test fire #2. Fired up fine. Adjusted idle screws and accelerator pump nozzle.
- adjusted throttle cables.
- idled up to operating temp. Readjusted idle speed.
- tested clutch and shifter on the jack. Good.
- tested rear brake on stand. Good. Burned the paint off the rotor.
- looked over the lighting wiring diagram and compared to Badlands illuminator diagram. Found several differences.
- built up all the Deutsch connectors for the lighting.
- tested lighting. No brake light.
- looked over pinouts and found two pin out of place. Fixed.
- tested lighting. License, Brakes F&R, turn L&R, run, hazard. All good.
- started fitting the front signals to the bars. Will finish that up tomorrow.

Nothing really worth pics.
