Passenger Mount and Pegs Installation on 07 Dyna
Putting 2 up pegs on my 07 Bob and was reading the instructions before attempting. Do you really need to loosen the drive belt to install the passenger mount/peg assembly to the left side of the bike? Looks like you could just take of the belt guard and work it in but the instructions say to loosen the drive belt.
Anyone here install there own?

Just did it today.
To properly torque the bolts, the belt should be loosened.
I did it the hard way and if the belt had been any tighter or if my wrench had been any larger, it would not have worked.
Rubbing the wrench against the belt doesn't help belt life.

I put the passenger footpeg mounts on my 07 Bob a few weeks ago. If your careful, you need only remove the belt guard. One thing I did do was purchase stainless button head cap screws (Allen) to replace the Torx screws. Polished the heads of the screws. They look 100x better. If space is an issue by the belt, you can hack-off a little of the allen wrench for more room. You can't do that with Torx. I also used the same screws for my forward controls. Look much better. Don't over tighten. If you feel uncomfortable, use a little Locktite. Good Luck

Put them on my 07 SG,and loosened the belt, I purchased the pegs with the (pin and retaining ring to hold the peg in)NOTE: they NEVER STAY UP WHEN NOT IN USE!! live and learn.............. I just replaced the pin with a stainless lock nut & bolt last night.
