Default Batwing Fairing and Stereo with speaker for Dyna

I will like to add Batwing Fairing with Stereo and speaker for my Dyna. Looking for comments and suggestions. For the fairing, I'm deciding between Dead center cycles road captain and Tsukayu. How do you think about the material they use and the design. Dead center cycles road captain is more expensive, does it mean it is better? Or is it Dead center cycles road captain sell in USA, so it is more expensive?

Option 1:
Dead center cycles road captain (thick ABC Plastic with a thin outer layer of Acrylic)
https://www.deadcentercycles.com/ROA...ider_p_59.html
Option 2:
Tsukayu (Fibreglass)
https://tsukayu.com/QuickDetachableFairingforDyna.html

For Stereo with speaker, do you think it will shorten the battery life?
Option 1:
Sony MEX-XB100BT (40w x 4) RMS
Do you think our Harley Davidson Dyna 18Ah battery can handle (40w x 4) Sony MEX-XB100BT
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...Amplifier.html

Option 2:
Sony DSX-A405BT (18w x 4) RMS
Is it I only need to look for speaker that is within 18w RMS? For 6"x9" or 6.5", it seem that all speakers are more than 50w RMS. So is it Sony DSX-A405BT cannot provide enough performance for a typical 6"x9" or 6.5" speaker?

Jackietan, may i ask whether or not you considered a 3rd option like the Memphis shades batwing fairing, as i too am wanting a fairing for my 2010 softail custom. Please keep us informed on your decision and progress.

I bought a DeadCenter fairing for the SB and I did research the difference in quality and prices of the different ones available. And chose them. Plus the owner was great with emailing answers to all my questions. So, I drove to Seattle to meet the guy who makes them and picked it up the one I ordered. The quality of their fairing is way better than Memphis Shades, no offensive to anyone who has one, but, a buddy boughta Memphis Shades batwing Fairing and we compared. Mine was better made...went on without any problems. Ordered the one that was prepped for a stereo and speakers, cuz I wanted to put my own selection in there, not theirs. Have had the fairing on for two years now and traveled with it. No rock chips of any kind, just a lot of dead bugs, but it cleans up really well. I would pay the money for Dead Center....just my opinion.

jackietan, I can't help you with the fairings you are looking at, sorry. However, I do have a fairing on my bike and run an aftermarket digital player head unit (Kenwood KMM-BT315U) and four HOG tunes speakers, no amp. I have been running this setup for almost two years and have never had a battery issue.

The head unit is a single din version, that plays all types of digital music via a USB input or bluetooth or SiriusXM if you have that. What I like about it is that it is about a quarter the weight at 1.5 lbs (.68kg) of a CD playing head unit and only about 4" (10.1cm) deep, where a CD unit would be about twice that. It also has phone capability via the bluetooth to you handheld, if you need that too.

I also went with the Dead Center Cycles Road Captain batwing. I started out with just the outer for about a year and then added the stereo ready inner. Here's my post about the install I did for the outer.

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...g-install.html

When I installed the inner stereo ready I used a JVC KD-R200 CD player and the speakers are JL Audio TR-690TXi 6x9's. I ran it this way for a few months and the sound was ok but I had to turn the JVC way up to get any volume but the speakers still sounded good and didn't distort. I then added the Alpine KYP-445U amp that Dead Center uses and the sound is great.

The guy at Dead Center is great and he even sent me pictures of how they install the amp themselves even though I didn't buy it from them. I doubt any of the others, Tsukayu or Memphis shades would do that.

Another reason I went with the Road Captain was I thought it looked a little better and was better proportioned than the Tsukayu as theirs looked a little too tall. As for the Memphis Shades, I wanted one that had a stereo in it and not just add a separate stereo and speakers to the handlebars.

I can't say why Tsukayu lowered their price almost in half but maybe they need to reduce their inventory.

So my vote is for the Road Captain.

I was very close to getting one, but decided against it. However, the one I would have bought would have been the Dead Center; their version just looks better on a Dyna, IMO.

Tsukayu i paid around 675 shipped and color matched.
i like it so far. Its still empty no stereo yet. Im planning that out right now. It took about 6 weeks to get here. You will need to relocate the front signals in some way. Im 5'7 and the wind barely gets the top of my helmet with the 5in windscreen.
