Only way to properly determine the best bike for anyone is to test drive, test drive, test drive.

At 5'8" he might like the Switchback over the Road King. It's got the same amenities but the seat is lower and although not THAT MUCH lighter is sure feels MUCH lighter. Definitely get him some seat time on one.

At 5'8" I'd say Softail Deluxe or Low rider, what is wrong with the Bike he has now? ?
Switchback is also a good chose. What has been done to your Uncles Road King? ?

Just go to the dealer and test ride anything and everything. You'll learn what you do and do not like about each model. I went in expecting to buy a fat bob and came out with a street glide. First time on a Harley. I test rode seven different models and the street glide fit me like a glove, and I love the looks and wind protection of the fairing.

I ride a Switchback too...not too small either. Handles well plus I've also put a Dead Center Fairing, so not getting that wind buffeting when on the highway.

Have your dad rent the models he's interested in. That's the only way to properly evaluate each model.

If he decides he likes the Switchback, I have one for sale that I will be posting this afternoon when I get home from work. It's my daughter's bike. 2012 Ember Red Sunglo with 1875 miles on it.

Well he rode the Road King around over the weekend and he thinks he want to go with that over his current Wide Glide. I told him he needs to get a little highway time before he decides for sure but I think he wants to go that route.
