I picked up this 2007 FXD a little over a month ago. Bone stock except some V&H slip-ons. Below the day I brought it home with 5,700 miles on it. I'm 57 so my knee's can't handle mid pegs and I think it looks way less cluttered with all the pegs off. I prefer the bike slammed a bit as opposed to 13+" shocks.
Below as it is today, I'm going for some splashes of orange-the left side has more than the right at this point. Considerations for the tank include going over the red outline with orange pinstripe, wrapping the center area with checkered flag with HD incorporated, having the tank painted orange on bottom with black on top separated with checkered flag graphic or all black with HD decal flanked with checkered flags, not yet decided.
So as of now in no particular order, drag bars with 6" risers, footboards, Shocks are drag specialties rider adjustable, mustang vintage solo seat, S&S air box, Power vision tuner, Dunlop American elite tires, smoked glass signal lenses, Amazon daymaker, smoked tail light, couple stickers and orange pinstripe paint, SE plug wires, smoked fly screen, nostalgic grips, dead creek solo bag, LRS derby cover, laydown license plate, Progressive drop in springs up front and I think thats it for now.
(edit)After looking at my post I had to add a little more orange to the right side of the bike.
I wanted this bike to have a somewhat modern hotrod style without the blacked out "club" look. I really like the blonde motor as well.
This bike is sure to go through some changes as I make it functional and comfortable for long rides, just a few minutes ago I removed the straight risers and added some pullbacks--money pits . I'll be lucky to get half what I paid for the straight risers!
Seems to be a lot of hate of late for bikes that are blacked out or without chrome so maybe my praise for bikes I like don't mean much but, hate to jinx you, I like it
Thanks SBM. No hate for blacked out bikes here, I'm just working with what I got, and my own style. I'm thinking a gloss black 2-1 if I can find one to work with my boards. I've read with a 3/8th spacer any 2-1 will work. So if anybody can point me in the right direction?
