how far have you went

I never use that silly gauge. I use my odo to watch how many miles on each tank. I monitor the MPG's to log an average (43-45), then multiply that by how many gallons I want to use up before I should fill up. Usually I go somewhere between 160-180 miles on the odo leaving me a little over a gallon. Keep it simple and ignore that silly gauge...it's wasted space on the tank.

Yeah the gas gauge is just for show and pretty much useless except for telling you when you have a full tank. I reset my "A" trip odometer at every fill up and usually always fill up around 130 miles or so. I tend to ride fast so I don't get the best milage.
Though on a few trips as the miles and days rack up, I'll find myself filling up around 100 miles or so, just so I can get off and walk around. My WG has the stock seat/shocks/handlebars and no windshield or fairing.

The stock gas gauge is bad. Shoot, the fuel light comes on at half a tank. I put on a better gauge and it is more accurate as it doesn't even move until I'm at half a tank and flashes at me at the last gallon. I go about 180 miles per tank and start looking for gas when I know I'm on my last gallon or I get to around 170 miles.

I've been wondering too
I've never put more than 3.5 gallons in at a fill up. This morning I was wondering if it was filling both sides of the tank when I filled up.
It would be great to know I could go 150+ miles on a tank but once the idiot light comes on I get a little gun shy about riding very far before I fill up.
