Default lower shocks, now a kickstand question...

Ordered some 412s the other day from Eastern Performance (they're having a hell of a sale on them right now $185 shipped) and if I remember right, someone mentioned that the kickstand needs some modification afterwards.

Anyone have info on this?

Hey.......I went through this same poop a few months back and never got a real good answer.....BUT.......I will tell you
You don't have to do anything.....It will be perfect
I lowered 1 inch in the rear.......was great
Then I found it's better to keep that frame level and did an inch in the front.....No problems at all with the kickstand.....
Now this is a solid answer.......something you don't always get around here....LOL

thanks, I was wondering... planning to put the shocks on tomorrow evening, since they are suppose to be delivered sometime tomorrow. figured I'd ask and see if there was any other work to plan for.

haven't planned to lower the front... but that may be something to think about.

I did mind in 20 minutes.....without a jack.....Just one side at a time
have a good allen wrench coz the OEM shocks are swimming in RED loctite and are hard coming out....
Use blue to install the new ones.....
After you do your first 80 MPH blast you will see that lowering the front will make it handle much better.....
Plus your *** will sit better on the seat...
Really the stock seat sucks....I went with a Mustaang solo just this week and feels 100% better

My experience is exactly the same as deeblues - not a problem even with both ends lowered 1". Might want to be a little more careful on any slight inclines, but I haven't experienced ANY problems.

Well Punty, truth be told, I kinda cheated too, used stock height Progressive front springs and pared down the included 'plastic' spacer so bike would be level.

I was afraid of the wind blowing the thing over as well after lowering front and rear. Bent my kickstand on a press.
