is leveling the front end as simple as the back? i'm waivering on going with a pair of 412s for the back, but want to drop the front end. i'm just not really all that mechanically inclined.
The fronts are easier than the back just loosen the 2 screws on each fork, then slide the forks up, make sure they are the exact same height on both side and torque accordingly. Email or PM me if you get stuck and I'd be glad to walk you through it. step by step
I did mind in 20 minutes.....without a jack.....Just one side at a time
How did ya get the swing arm up far enough to bolt up the one side (11") you were doing first, when the other side was still hooked up and with a 1 " longer shock ?
Murfe
Jack the bike up just enough to take the weight off the shock.Wheel should still be touching the floor
unbolt the shocks top and bottom nothing drops
bolt up both shocks on the top (Blue Loctite)
let the bike down just enough so the swing arm (tire) comes up into the fender to the right height for the new shocks.
Install both bottom bolts (Blue Loctite)
20 min.. Use a jack.. Borrow if ya can.. or betterbuy one you'll use it
As far as the front.. Your call MyF.E. is stock and handles fine..
I didn't have any problems with my FXDX until I droped drop 3". The fix is simple, the tab on the kick stand that locks it into place also controls the hight. Just grind off the top a little.
See attached drawing.
Thanks for the hint, TMworks... I've made a date with my grinder for next weekend... Saves a trip to the bike shop and a hundred bucks for a "short" jiffy stand!!!

I know your post is a month old but, the windshield is a 14" winvest. I had to custom machine the brackets. When I put the pullback/ risers on I had to relocate the spedo and tach. The factory winvest brackets would work then.
