The Dyna model "Sturgis" was 1991...the FXB (not Dyna) was the Early one

But doesn't change "your point"

I ran the Lowrider S "gold" wheels and badges on my dyna but after seeing other lrs wheels powdercoated black, I felt the wheels look much better darker. The wheels color draw a lot of attention from the bike to the wheels. I love these wheels in gloss Black PC.

The 14/15 Lowriders have the same rims but are black and edge cut.

I think it is dependent on the preference for the color. The LR S models identity is based on the gold rims. Since the rest of the bike has some different tins and features from the regular LR it wouldn't even look like a LRS without gold rims.

Sorry about the dates on the Sturgis wheels it was a typo I didn't catch. Substituted an 8 for a 9

Thank you everyone for your input and opinions. I have decided that I am going to have my rims powder coated black. Although the stock rims are clearly one of the most, if not the most identifiable parts of the LRS, the color is just not me. I'll add some non black parts to break up the look a bit, I'm not a 'murdered out' guy either, so i'll add some contrast.

Thanks again!

I'd like the wheels in a true "gold" & not that poo-brown color. They'd look nice, IMO, in a legit gold color with the masked/hi-lited rim & spoke edges of the the standard LR wheel.

While looking through this thread, I see I posted last year about swapping wheels. Figured I’d post an after photo.
New wheels are 18” and 19” with matching rotors and sprocket.
