Default 1999 Dyna FXD Intermittent Top End Tap

So the wife and I went on a short ride the other day just cruising. About halfway through I got on the throttle on a straight away and the typical twin cam top end noise got much louder more of a tapping almost knock noise. I let off and it continued briefly until I stopped and let it idle some. I babied it all the way home without any other issues. I checked the oil when I got home thinking that it might be low and maybe the top end wasn't getting the correct amount of lube at sudden high RPM's. I was right and there was only oil at the tip of the dipstick (after letting it sit for 20 minutes). I am going to be doing an oil change this weekend, but i went ahead and added 2 qts in the meantime. I haven't rode much since, but the bit that I have, I think I heard the tapping again. Any advice is welcome!

**UPDATE** So, I changed the oil yesterday, and it seems the noise is still there. It doesn't affect the ride at all, and it hasn't gotten as loud as it did the other day. I'm about to go on a long ride this weekend. I'll post another update after.

**Update** So, I rode about 200 miles this last weekend, and pushed her pretty hard. I think the noise is just normal twin cam tapping. I saw a video about some kind of bolts in the top end that have some slop in the,. I guess they make a sleeve you can install to quiet the noise. I doubt I'll do it anytime soon, but anyone looking to keep their TC top end quiet might check into them. Thanks!
