Ruined clutch cable?

The bearing already had a fair amount of wear, looking at the pieces. It's a ten year old bike with almost 30k miles on it. So when I stressed it by over tightening the cable, I think that was all it needed because it was already weak, and isn't very robust to begin with. I'll probably throw in the heavier duty Baker bearing kit next time I drain my transmission, I'll probably flush it one more time before my next big ride. I could only find 8 out of the 9 rollers, so while I'm guessing it fell out when I opened things up I want to look for metal shavings after a little more riding than just around the block to warm things up.
Maybe someone with a little more mechanical knowledge might be able to help me with a question on the clutch adjustment... I know that the service manual calls for 1/2 to 1 full turn back on the adjustment screw, but I have heard mechanics advocate for 1/2 turn and I know that's what HD service techs turn it back to. I prefer the engagement point to be closer to the grip so I like mine in the 3/4 to 1 turn range, does this put more stress on the throw out bearing and the clutch?

When I tried to install the easy pull clutch kit I did not like the way it changed the angle of how the clutch cable runs through the housing. It rubs on that corner. Have you noticed any adverse effect yet? Have you opened it back up and check it at all?
I didn't install it after seeing how it rubs. I wonder how long it will take to start wearing though bands on the cable?
It might be a non issue but I didn't like it.

When I replaced the clutchcable it was in for about 80K km and showed no wear or tear.
The current cable is in about 50K km, no issues up to now. I have to admit...haven't check inside though.
