Ok so this bike came with a leather pouch that sat in the gas tank in front of the speedo “console”. I hated it so i took it off. Is there a chrome piece that would fit this bike I could replace it with? having that section from the dash to the seat looks weird without something there.

There are one piece dashes or add on pieces available to fill that space. Google ‘wide glide dash’

Huh thanks. I’ve been searching but not finding anything that’ll fit my ‘00. Maybe later years would too?

I think Finding that Dash Panel for your FXDWG might be easier said than done (even aftermarket)... more available for the Softail Version which looks very similar but with a different lower attachment.

Harley used to sell one for fitment 1995-2003 FXDWG (not available anymore) part# 71284-01.

I checked ebay, but none available now or in the Recent past ("completed items") ... they have been on there before, you might keep checking

Looks like this ...

If you are looking for more stones to turn over, you may want to try these guys: http://www.cas4.com/Instruments-Dash...s-Covers01.htm

They seem have a page dedicated just to dash solutions and may be able to point you in the right direction. I had the one-piece Ness chrome dash cover listed on the website for my 1998 FXDWG once upon a time. If I recall, it was a pain in the butt to get it to fit just right.

From the factory is was a leather piece, they look pretty good. That chrome piece is plastic, make your own conclusions.

got this really clean NOS sporty rear fender off Fleabay from the same year. The paint is in absolutely amazing shape! I know it won’t be original, but man I think this is going to look killer on the bike.
