Tank Emblem Removal Problem.
with my 07 Streetbob. Heated emblems and they came right off in seconds but left the complete script in rubber. I have been removing the rubber from both side using the hair drier but it's impossible to peel it all off and there is too much residue rubber.
How can I get the residual rubber removed from the tank so I can remove the remaining adhesive???
Thanks for any help/advice.

use wd40, works great. soak the adhesive with the wd40 on a rag. let it sit for about 5-10minutes, then soak a soft cloth with wd40 and slowly rub the adhesive. comes right off, thats how i took mine off, worked great. jackyl

I use an eraser wheel to remove all the badges on my vehicles. Auto body shops use it to remove pin stripe tape also. Not sure how it would work on the textured denim finish though.
I can't help with removal for those with the denim paint..... but if you don't have a denim bike you can try RainX Bug and Tar remover. I used if to get the adhesive off the rear fender with I pulled the reflectors the other day. Just remember to wash and rinse well, and then rewax the affected area. Keep working at it, it'll come off.
mine was a very slow process even with heat... i just kept working the rubber junk off with my fingers. then like said before. wd-40.and goo-gone. then polish or wax area... opp's no wax withthe flat pait. skip that part . took me over 3 hours to do the job. my bike was over a year old. i think that makes it tougher to get off the junk .
