Default 2001 Dyna Low Rider front brake caliper

I just picked up a 2001 FXDL and it is in pretty much perfect condition as far as I can tell except for the front brake - the handle comes almost to the handlebar before it engages. I was thinking of first just bleeding the brakes - but I can't find the bleeder valve! Any hints? Also, this is a DOT5 brake fluid, so is water in the line less likely culprit? I am wondering if there is a caliper issue so that would probably be next

That looks aftermarket (i could be wrong) so I can't help you there. If you can't find a bleeder valve you could always try bleeding it at the master.

Often when I read questions here, i wonder if it was meant to be a joke ... is this one of those? ... about not finding the bleeder screw

That looks like some kind of aftermarket shroud over possibly the stock caliper. Take that outer part off and see.
