Default Night dragons? 160/70 17 or 180/60 17

Have the front sitting In garage but undetermined on which size rear for my 15 fxdbb. Question is does the 180 and 160 sit about the same height? Has anyone switch from one to the other and why. The 160 Michelin’s wear well but no good stoping in the rain. And after some wear have to adjust rebound dampening less on rear to keep traction coming out of corners. My thought was wider tire on same rim may give similar ride height and better grip. But haven’t purchased anything if there a better tire to go with the night dragon front. Thanks. I want something good for carving and hard cornering but I can sit weight on and come to a good stop in the rain and not slide

I don't have the night dragons, but I have a 180 rear on my super glide. If you want cornering performance stay with the 160.

160*.7= 112 and 180*.6 = 108 so the 180 is going to be about 5/32" (4mm) lower.

That said, the 160 will turn faster.

I'm running a 180/60-17 Night Dragon. I think I'm on my 3rd one. I do recall verifying per the Pirelli Catalog that the 180 is slightly shorter than the 160. I can't comment much to difference in traction as I only have the stock Dunlop to compare it to, and the Night Dragon is vastly superior to that as far as grip.

thanks a lot that makes sense now. Same rim so that’s the outside area wrapped around.. and although the 180 is tempting for the crazy sporadic rain storms here I bought a 160 mostly causeI have a decently tuned full Bitubo suspension setup now with the commander 2s. What I have been wanting is better front traction and braking. Next project will be front radial brake setup of some type I beleive. But just spent morning hunting down my p0641 code. Turned out to be a binding throttle or idle cable issue causing something with the throttle/ fuel management sensors I beleive.
