Default Passing Lamp Conversion?

I had one of the passing lamp bulbs go out on my Super Glide recently. Anybody have any experience with replacing the 4449 sealed beam bulbs with something that uses a replaceable bulb like an H4? I want to retain the classic lens appearance and avoid the modern Daymaker type look.

4449 is a PAR36 bulb

The "36" in the PAR-36 or PAR36 refers to the dimensions of the FACE of the bulb (or lamp) in eighths of an inch; thus a PAR36 is 36 eighths of an inch in diameter across the face of the bulb, 4.50" (114.3mm) Maximum Outer Diameter.

I would think so, but Arimichael, your existing style are cheap enough (not through HD), easy to replace and not needed often ... what are you trying accomplish?

88, I think those Bulb housings with replaceable bulbs (as you show above) have the Later lens/reflectors which don't have the "Classic" look he's after

Yes, but it's much closer than the Daymaker styles. I think that's just what I'm looking for.

Better brightness and a more easily obtainable bulb. Yes, the OE sealed beams are relatively easy to get, but not quite so much if one craps out in the middle of BFE.
