Default 2009 Dyna FXDL doesn’t start after installing my tank back on.

2009 Dyna Lowrider won’t start after installing my tank/fuel assembly. (Newbie)

What’s up guys,
Hoping I can get some help on here.
I’m kinda chasing my tail at this point. I recently got my tank painted and had to remove my fuel pump assembly. Tank is completed, I installed everything back the same way I removed it. Made sure battery was fully charged.
Added sufficient amount of gas, but now it won’t start. I can hear the fuel pump prime, and my engine cranks, but doesn’t catch. Almost as if it’s not getting gas.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Ya need 3 things to make an engine run, air, fuel and spark.Yer missing one in the equation, but which one. Start by running a Diagnostic Scan for ERROR CODES. Search for Fuel Moto, you will find how to do it and a list of all the Error Codes.

Try to start it then pull the front plug out. If it's wet with gas, you need spark. If it's dry, you need fuel.

Adding to the two replies above, since you had the fuel pump assembly removed fuel would be top on my list of suspects. Maybe pull the top plate and verify internal hoses did not pop off when the pump pressurized or look in with a flashlight when the pump runs, maybe a hose has a leak.

Default Retainer clip that secures filter and o-ring!

I ended up taking the fuel pump assembly back out and noticed the retainer clip that secures the filter and o-ring wasn’t sitting in the slots.
Removed clip and reinserted(correctly). Put everything back together..and it started!!!!
Made sure everything was secured and took her out for a test run.
Half way down the block it stalled out..heard some misfire shots before it gave out.
Started back up, but when I went to give it some throttle it wouldn’t accelerate and would stall out. Powered off and back on, the throttle worked intermittently.
Managed to get it home after it stalling out on me several times.
Back to the drawing boards!
Thanks guys for the help
