The last LR I saw at the dealer here was almost $14k before dealer add-ons (frt, prep, etc.) about the only extras on it were the smoothe spoked wheels for about a grand.
I would say that, if you are over 5'10" you may be more comfortable on the SG, otherwise, forward controls will feel mighty good on the LR. IMHO.
054 has it right - you can't go wrong with any of the choices.

Have you thought about a late model used bike that might already be an upscale model and might have a lot of goodies already? You might be amazed at what guys are getting for around that $12K figure.

Another thing is that more than a few people are having problems with the 2007's and there's no assurance that the 2008's will be a lot better...

Just my $.02

I'm 5' 10" and 194. I like my wide glide better for me. Its streached out a little more and comes with forward controls. Helps keep my hips out of a cramp. Go to the dealer and sit on one. With the Wide Glide being longer it ride the hiway real good and witht he rake it takes the curves.

I love my WGlide and ride it more than my Deuce or my Heritage. Here's a pic...

Bought 2 07 bikes, my buddy got a 07 bike. A lot of my friends got 07 bikes. I have heard very little problems with any of them.
I've rode mine like I stole it, no problems.
you can git a 07 super glide for a great price if you don't want chrome. Can git better financing on a new bike too. The 07's ain't gonna last long.

All of the prices I'm quoting are military overseas prices, I'm currently stateside thats the reason for the wait on the purchase.
