Our Dyna is in need of tires only because current tires are aged out a 11 years. I am looking at Metzeler ME888 Marathon which are on there now but thinking the Michelin Commander III or Pirelli Night Dragon's might handle better? Not worried about mileage more interested in something sticky in corners, etc.so curios what you all like on these Dyna's. I plan on pulling the wheels off and taking them in to our local Cycle Gear. This is my dad's old bike and it has been sitting for too long so looking forward to getting it out here in 2023, here is the back story on it. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...dyna-home.html
A picture and video from yesterday, also next thing is moving that tool bag, I plan on adding a small one on a back rack I think incorporated with the passenger backrest.
So far out of all the tires I’ve ran on my dyna, the Pirelli Night dragons are my favorite. Decent life, great grip and handling. Metzler cruisetecs come in a close second.
that said I’m currently running the Metzler crusietecs, because I got a flat and needed new tires in short order last summer and night dragons were out of stock. And so far they are a very close second to the night dragons. They take a little longer to warm up for the more aggressive riding I do but I think that’s mostly due to the dual compound rear tire. Which also means standing straight up the tire does have slightly less launching and braking grip than the single compound night dragons. It’s slight, but it is noticeable. Still a great tire, and they ride great. If they do get significantly better wear mileage than my night dragons and night dragon GT have, I’ll get them again as a first choice.
Also I’ve ran Michelin’s, both the stock “scorcher” tires as well as commander ii’s. I realize they’re not the iii’s you’re looking at, but on motorcycles Michelin tires do not impress me. They seem to be geared toward the guy pounding out interstate miles. I think the rubber compound were so hard they actually wore faster than my night dragons have because of all the slipping and spinning I did with them.

I have an '08 Fat Bob with Traxxion AR-25 front fork kit and Progresive 444 rear shocks. I replaced my Pirelli Night Dragons with Metzler ME888 Marathon Ultra tires last spring. The Metzlers are compounded for long tread life and their grip is definitely less than the Night Dragons. If the longevity of the Metzlers proves out I will be happy but the Pirellis grip is better.
Thanks All for the advice! I Iooked them all over at Cycle Gear website and some were not available in both sizes I needed, ect. I went with the Pirelli Night Dragons and with luck will pull my wheels off and have them mounted there this weekend or early next week so will be ready when all this crazy NorCal rain stops!

I really like Avon myself. Always ran the Avon AM18 or 23. Now the new series are the Cobra Chrome tires.
Avon's my goto for tires, all the shovel will ever get best canyon running tires I've ever ridden. We'll see come time for the RK, haven't checked sizes for it.

My shovel’s been through three Avon AM18 tires. That tire has done many 1:54 60 ft times and hooks really well. I use to ride with crotch rockets and that very tire was doing 130-140 on several occasions hanging through curves and staying right with the pack. Way better than anything else I’ve ran.
Tires are in so going on tomorrow. My dad didn’t ride the bike since 2013 after his stroke and it sat in his garage till he passed in 2019, I haven’t put more than 100 miles on it since and basically just around town as the tires were hard and dated 2010, looking forward to fresh hoops and being able to put miles on that it deserves, I know he is smiling up there.
