Hey all, considering getting a Memphis shades road warrior for my 2010 FXDC. I’m questioning which windshield I should go with. For reference I am 5’10 with forward controls, and 14 inch apes im worried if I go to tall I won’t be able to see through it, and if I go to low, with my bars it will look goofy as hell. Any input is appreciated. My bike in its current state for reference as well
I am 5'9, I originally went with the vented 13" and it worked great. I have 14" t-bars. I wanted the dark black smoke and the highest those go are 11" so I moved to that and honestly, I don't notice a difference personally.
I'd recommend the 11-13" range. Personally I run a 11" with 12" T-bars.
But what I really wonder about is would the road warrior fairing work for you with those wide apes. I think the fairing would be hitting the upright tubes of your bars the way the fairing fits to the bike, it comes back even with the fork tubes/ riser clamp. what's the width of your bars at the bottom bend/ how wide are the upright tubes? If more than 14" (the inside width of the narrowest portion of the fairing) its a no go.
Also I'd look at re-routing your clutch cable.
here’s a pic so you can get an idea

I made a cardboard template of the fairing with the windscreen sizes from 11" - 17" marked and sat on the bike to see what would be the best. I could probably go to 12", but did go with 13".
You'll have to see if you have a long or short torso. That's why I did the template as most peeps my short height seem to have a bit longer torso.
