No disrespect intended, but the last time I talked to the dealer he kindly warned me that putting anything but Harley oil in my bike would void my warrentee. I'm sure if I suggest some kind of outlaw parts swap he'll have the social workers put the Dyna in a foster home.
It seems to me that anything that can buffer energy surges in the drivetrain is a good thing.

Ride your motor cycle to it get to good running temp and putit in 5th gear on good flat ground and cruise with the motor not pulling the bike or holding the bike back just a relaxed mode 50 mph or slowerListen to left side of engine and see if you here anything rattling like gear backlash. If you do there should not be any. If you dopud the IDS pulley on and the noise will go away totaly. And the spacers are all different than what come whith the pulley andyou have to make them all. The noise might not bother some people but i hate noise any kind. Now i love to ride my bike i used to hate it. IF you have not rode a05 dresser before with a 5 speed you will not know what a tranny shoulde sound like. Tellthe dealer a 07 dyna ,dresser and a soft-tail all have a 96-inch motor and a 6 speed tranny and if the dressers make noise the dyna and soft-tail will to. Like i said the noise might not bother some but it drove me crazy so i put the pulley on and cured all the noise and helped smooth everthing out.
