Default 07 6 speed

Any body with a 07 dyna with any noise in the primary or tranny, my 07 S/B is quit as a mouse. It used to sound like a thrash machine and i hated it. The noise is not only on the touring models it is on the softails and dynas to you just cant hear it as good for all the wind noise. Just put a IDS pulley on and it took a little work to do but you can make it work. The pulley is harley davidson part but it only fits 07 and 08 touring models it comes factory on 08 touring models. here is a pic of it on my dyna...

Had a 07 Street bob, drove if about 5500 miles it was fine. Got a 07 Wide Glide over 10,000 miles. I like the 6 speed transmission.
My buddy has a 07 Street Bob and a 07 Street Glide, both of them are fine too.

Is there any truth to the tranny issues with bikes built late in 06. I may purchase an07WG and wanted to know if I should concern myself with when the bike was built ( 09/06 vs 05/07)

I got one of the 1st wide glides out and got over 10,000 miles on the tranny with no problem. The problems with the trannies was on the touring bikes and a few softails. They have come up with a pulley to git rid of the problem. Baker also has a fix for those bikes.
Yer safe with the wide glide.

ORIGINAL: 96inchBOB

it took a little work to do but you can make it work.
Can you give us a little more specifics on how to "make it work"? Was there any modifications required? Any changes to spacers etc.?

Introduced on the '08 Touring models, the Isolated Drive System improves rider comfort and ride quality by dampening the mechanical noise and vibration caused by the engine's torque pulses. The rubber compensation elements in the sprocket act like a cushion, absorbing the power pulses from the engine. With the IDS installed, the motorcycle feels more refined, and is quieter while accelerating, shifting and cruising. Kit includes sprocket, compensator bowl, and installation hardware.

It can be added to an 07 for $305 retail

See what bike it is for. Don't think you should need it on the Dyna bikes ! Call the H-D dealer and talk to the service manager. He can explain it to you or better go see him.
