Default Inner primary cover removal

02 FXDWG.
All 7 bolts are out.
Stator, clutch basket us out.
Tapping on the back side with a piece of wood and it's not budging.
Does the clip on the bearing need to be removed?
Thx.

No the circlip for the oil seal stays.

Double check. I know on my touring bikes, I have missed a bolt, usually one front and bottom. Brake clean and feel around.

The manual will show show you where they are, double check only 7

I got all 7. And my manual didn't even mention the 2 outside. Just the inside 5. LOL.
I really don't want to crack the case.
Thx.

I just did this on 06 electraglide. Did you remove the two bolts that hold the starter?
Also take the starter gear in the primary out or you will not be able to remove the inner cover.

Mine allows that stator to stay intact, but you will notice mu starter is unsolved, but I left it in place.

I was thinking the outside cover where it shows the tq sequence and long and short, there is a front one in there that I missed. My mistake.

I've also only done touring bikes, which have a different shifter.

But either way that clip stays. I would change out bearing and seal since you have it pout. And jackshaft seal. I would also consider seal on tranny for shifter rod.

Did you remove the jackshaft for the starter? Some long allens and extensions will help with starter.
