BAS issue on trike conversion
I have a 2009 Super Glide Custom with a trike kit. To prevent it from cutting off on tight corners I had the dealership change it to sidecar mode. Mine has the BAS in the TSM. Now the red security light stays on. I would like to jumper it to keep the light off and I'm trying to find out what to jumper to accomplish this? Has anyone else done this who can advise me? If not I'll have to spend some time with the wiring diagram. Thanks for any help.
I would like to know how they did that as well?
Here is the wiring diagram here:- 99949-09_en - 2009 Wiring Diagrams
If the BAS is in the TSM / TSSM then the only way I can see the system working is for it to send serial data to the ECM and for the ECM to switch off the system relay and thus shutting down the ignition coil, fuel pump and injectors.
With the security light on permanently suggests you now have a DTC stored and current. I would suggest you see what the code is and post that up here. You can find the codes following along here:- Harley Trouble Codes

That's the way I understand it too. When the dealership changed it to sidecar mode the security light showed up. The code says "External BAS out of range". It seems to be looking for an external BAS. I think if I installed an external BAS I'd be right back where I started. The external would sense a quick turn and shut it down. If I reset the code, it comes right back because the issue is still there. It works really good as it is, it just has the steady light.

Have you talked with the dealership? If done correctly, there should be no check engine light.
With the CanBus bikes, the BAS can be enabled or disabled via the BCM with the dealer's computer or one of the other diagnostic tools like the TechnoResearch Centurion Pro.
It was my understanding that pre-canbus, like on your bike, there was a BAS switch kit that had to be installed. It changed the BAS sensitivity.
I've read about the kit added to touring models... Not sure what is needed to add it to a Dyna, or if there is any difference.
Here are the install instructions I found for the '09+ BAS switch kit.
