Default What is my next step / upgrade?

Hello all,

I finally got my first Harley at age 67!

Picked up a nice 2009 FXDC with 25k miles.

Currently stock mid controls, seat, suspension, air filter.

Cobra header pipes (don't know model but I like them).

I've been through it top to bottom to make sure everything is in order.

So far I have done:
Three hole service
4" risers
Highway pegs
Flushed the brake fluids
Pads front and rear
Man-o-War comp (original started making noise)
Tires and wheel bearings
Led bulbs throughout
Memphis Shades windshield with lowers.
New battery

Thats the complete history I know of.

Looking to start on some upgrades and was wondering what your suggestions are for the next investment.

I'm not currently a trip taker but that could change.

Thanks in advance.

Post a picture(s) soon as you can; what does it not do for you what you want it to do?

We'll be more than happy to help

I'd be curious about cam chain tensioners and lifters.

An old timer once told me, "Want to make your bike cool? Put miles on it..."

At 25k on the clock I wouldn't be too worried about lifters and tensioners, However I think it's pretty obvious that the next upgrade would be a cam and Air cleaner upgrade with a tuner or Dyno tune.. Then while in there ,Yup Lifters and tensioners..

What are your plans for the bike? Canyon carver? Cruiser? Bar Hopper? Touring?

If it were me, I'd start with some mild performance upgrades like a cam swap. Then maybe suspension upgrades depending on the style of riding I planned to do.

You got your 1st. Harley-Davidson, and you've done all necessary to bring it up to the current maintenance schedule. That's great.

Dude just ride the bike, make sure it's truly dependable, enjoy it.
There's plenty of time to work (spend more money) on it later.

All good advice.

Just wondering what others have done.

Mostly just back and forth to work and cruising through the park on nice evenings.

It's laid up for winter right now (northern Ohio) so I'm thinking ahead to spring.

Just kicking around ideas.

Picture is from just shortly after I got it so windshield and risers are not shown.
