Default Riser

Im thinking about fitting a straight riser to my 2000 fxdx, any ideas what size riser i can go to using the stock cables and wires?

I was hoping for a 4"1/2" rise.

4.5 inch risers will work fine with drag bars

I like the idea of the drag bars mdog, i take it yours are fitted with no change to wires/cables? I was going to keep my stock black bars, but them drags look pretty good.

Cheers cabinboy, i like it too!

I have 4.5" straight risers on my 02 FXDL with the stock bars and cables. No problem. Wouldn't go any higher though.

Thats good, 4 and a half was the max I wanted to go!
I spose I better pull the tank off and see if theres any slack wire under there as well to make the job easier.

All the cables will be fine with 4.5" although you will probably have to bend the front brake cable a little.

I put the 4.5's on my SG with stock bars and all I had to do was loosen the clamp and relieve the stress on the front brake hose.
Just remember to protect the tank before you start.
