That plug (if i remember correctly) is either for European emissions as their standards are different than ours, (its disconnected here in the states), or it is the plug for California emissions model bikes... cant remember which... but it should have been stowed via zip ties to the other wiring connected to and behindthe throttle body of the bike.

Put the cap back on and stuff it under the seat. I didn't find anything like that in my manual.

Can't help you. Too new of a bike for me. But, Maybe it is the diagnostic plug the service rep uses to hook his equipment to.

No alarm or siren on this baby. Hmmm, what could it be...I finally located a service manual wiring diagram and .... I found it! Same plug and colored wires. It's labled EXHAUST ACTUATOR for HDI which is the international Harley's. Thanks for your help guys! Now, if I can just find the customer accessory power outlet that the specs say is "standard" on the dyna's...

According to my 06 Service Manual, it's your customer accessory plug.
Pins 1&3 (O/R)go to the customer accessory fuse (15A), Pin 4 goes to ground (Black), Pin 2 (R?Y) goes to the back lighting circuit.

Hope somebody else knows more.......... I am going to go look for mine

Look on Page 2/2 on the wiring diagrams, bottom of page if it's like mine. You'll see the colors of the wires in my pics match the Exhaust Actuator exactly. The power plug you're talking about doesn't match the colored wiring. My Pin 3 is black and the others aren't O/R. Anyhow, thanks for looking! Just wish I could ride...more snow yesterday in Colorado and streets still are crap.

Sorry, I thought mikeurig was identifying the colors off your first pics. he must have been looking in the manual and giving those colors.

Your new pics do show something absolutely different. Don't see anything like it in the 06 manual so far. If it's for an exhaust actuator circuit, that would be meaningless to you in Colorado Springs, and that is why it is capped. The Euro bikes (HDI) have the actuators to control solenoids in the exhaust pipes, and in the air cleaner for noise control.

Doesn't look like you need it, unless you are moving

Happy New Year,

DougJ

It is exactly for what Frank said. Also if you look behind your air cleaner you will find another plug that possibly is not being used as well.
