Default Solid Struts

I had solid struts on my '58 swing arm frame and was thinking about putting them on my Dyna. Has anyone done this with the new Dynas and have pics? Thanks...........I know, why would you want to put struts on...

agreed... i built a hard tail CB750 bobber... rode it from Chicago to KC missouri... sold it in missouri! swore i would never ride a hardtail that distance again... however... for around town... man it is a cool ride! you can really feel the road...in some cases all the way into your spine! Diz with your style i say go for it! at the worste you toss your shocks back on... i would get a spring seat at least though!

Damn! Can't believe you you went there, with the "soft tail" thing!! Na...I just want to get it as low on the tire as possible. I guess I'm a sucker for a rigid ride....still have one in the garage. Would like to see that rigid CB 750!

Ha ha.....ya know I was bustin' your chops!

Actually, been thinking about it myself but my butt likes my shocks to much. Plenty of stuff on Ebay though for cheap.

At those prices I can snag a set and swap them out for bar hopping then go back to shocks for long trips! I dig it! Tell you what.....buy a set...put them on your bike, and send me pics

I've owned a rigid as well, it's not really that big a deal if you have a decent seat. The problem with the struts I see on Ebay is they want damn near as much as they do for a set of shocks. You can make your own if you have some moderate metal working skills.Struts are a good way to determine if you can handle riding a hard tail but they'll never look as good as a real rigid. It would be interesting to see if you can get a weld on or even a bolt on hard tail for a Dyna, my guess would be no.

Yeah...a buddy of mine made my old ones...he had a machinist background. I have a welder, but not so sure about my "skills" when it comes to welding critical areas....break a strut and your screwed.

I"ve seen em done with solid 1/2" thick bar stock you don't really even need a welder just cut to length, drill and bolt up.I confess that set on Ebay with the with the ford tail light and plate bracket is tempting.
