Stupid question?
I am putting stock street bob bars on my 05 superglide. I got the bars and cables, however it just occured to me what about the turn signals.Do I have to relocate them to the front forks or is there enough length. I am new to bikes and I just want to have everything ready when I put them on. I don't want to be halfway thru the install and have something happen that I didn't think about. As always thanks for any input.
P.S. I hate to hear any rider go down, but I am glad to hear Doug is going to be ok.

If there is not enough length, just add to the wiring and hide the splices in the harness. No big deal.
But, if it were me, I'd move the turn signals to the front forks anyway. I did because they just never look right under the grips and the only reason that H-D puts them there is to comply with the DOT regs on seperation. I moved mine the first month I had it, and also moved the rear lights to the fender to give it a narrow profile.

I agree. There are no stupid questions - only stupid people that refuse to ask questions.
There are always new people coming on this site and the same questions pop up all of the time. But a new person never saw it before, so we answer again. It's all part of this site. And we never get mad.
Ask all you want..............we will answer you.

You mentioned DOT separation, so does that mean if you move them to the forks it could potentially fail a safety inspection? I would think not, as I see the relocation kits, and pics of lots of bikes with them relocated. I was just curious though. Thanks.

Well, according to the Ohio State Patrol Officer's lawbook that he was gracious enough to let me look at after he pulled me over for no front turn signals:
In Ohio front turn signals are requiredon all motorcycles manufactured after 1950-something, they are to be amber in color, locatedat the same level both sides and visible from 300ft.
Horizontal seperation was not specified nor was the time of day in which they need to be visible from 300ft, night makes a huge difference.
Just sharing my past experiences, laws obviously may be different by state.
