Default Couple ideas, need comment

For the '08 Streetbob...

1) I want to get rid of the Jetson's type rear signals, and I've heard of getting them mounted into the tail light.

2) Get a fatter rear wheel (worry is mainly brake lines and fender rub).

3) Passenger seat, but haven't found any on any sites and the stealership only has the pile-on (though not bad, the ol' lady probably won't be too fond...)

4) Any/all parts/accessories that would fit on '07's, will they fit on the '08? What are the exceptions?

Thanks in advance.

Ike

Not really sure about the tail light mod. I know that I found somthing on another thread some where around here. should be able to find something on line. As for the fatter tire it would depend one which one that you go with but you shouldn't have to many problems with it. now fo the seat. I have the sundowner 2 up one piece. Front part is comfy with good lower lumbar support and the back is wider and sits up a little more. My wife loves the seat. Had the pilion on a different bike and she prefers the sundowner by far. Good luck in the search.

I put a Kury tail light with the integrated turn signals and removed the wings all together, “JRK5892†does have a really cool rear turn signal option as well.

As for differenced in 07 to 08 the only really bug one it the top triple tree with the risers built into the freaking top triple tree.

JB, I'm lookin at either a sundowner or mustang, still up in the air, I'll have to see some in person before I know what I'll want on my bike.

LI, Can you link that Kury tail light?

0B, Those signals are rad, can the 180 fit on stock wheels w/o too many issues?

I have the smoke colored one, i dont know if it is legal or not to exclude the signals elseware.

Also I have a sundowner for the better half when I need two up, it is comfortable but looks like hell, really wide. I do like it a lot better than the corbin I had on my night train comfort wise.

For the '08 Streetbob...

1) I want to get rid of the Jetson's type rear signals, and I've heard of getting them mounted into the tail light.
Kuryakyn makes a "Panacea" tail light that has integrated turn signals. Looks cool but, in my opinion, isn't really safe. I have a friend that has it and it doesn't get your attention in the daylight. He is so conscious of it that he now gives hand signals when he is turning. Looks good at night though. There are also options to move your turn signals to the license plate bracket (I personally don't like it) and there are also options for putting turn signals on the ends of your fender struts. JakeinIraq is getting them done. I hope it turns out well but the lights are awfully small so I am not sure how visible they will be.

2) Get a fatter rear wheel (worry is mainly brake lines and fender rub).
There are custom ways to do it and there is an "out of the box" way to do it. HD sells a dyna wide tire kit that addresses the wires under the fender and includes a Dunlop Screamin Eagle 180 tire. If you want to go with something bigger, you are looking at more time and $$$.

3) Passenger seat, but haven't found any on any sites and the stealership only has the pile-on (though not bad, the ol' lady probably won't be too fond...)
If she's picky like mine is, she won't like anything comparable to stock. Mine was setup for 2-up stock but she hated the seat. Had to buy a Sundowner which I later traded for a Tallboy (almost identical). It's very comfy for me and her but I hate the way it looks. I only put it on with a detachable sissy bar when she is riding with me. I can change from solo to 2-up with sissy bar and back in about 2 minutes flat though.

4) Any/all parts/accessories that would fit on '07's, will they fit on the '08? What are the exceptions?
I'm not aware of anything except for the air cleaner covers. You can't put the football style cover on the 08 style air cleaner unless you change the entire a/c assembly. I'd strongly suggest doing that anyway though as part of a stage 1 upgrade (which would also include hi-flow mufflers or pipes and a fuel/ecm manager/tuner).

Thanks in advance.

I have the Sundowner seat, and my wife likes it. Most other "two-up" seats seem to be for models in bikinis to take pictures on, not for real people to ride on. I also prefer the looks of real seats on motorcycles.

hey brother... i got my turn sigs from here
http://www.luckybike.com/mini-turn-s...a2890a649f9c91
then i put them on the bike... i have pics of how i did the wiring and what not, i run a 180 on mine and tore out the wires about a 100 times with the "jetson style" turn sigs on there so i got sick of it, i wrapped my side plates inside my fender in shrink wrap and ran my wire though that, tapped in from behind the seat... no more ripped out wires for this guy! for my front turn sigs i used one of my LED pods... crazy bright... here are some pics... let me know ifi can help if you go with something like this...
