The SE tire that comes in the "kit" is made for the stock rim so there shouldn't be any issue. Other 180's are made for wider rims but I've seen and heard of people putting them on the stock rim with no issues. However, I've also heard they don't look as good on the stock rim as the SE because they weren't designed for it. I've had one person tell me that, if you aren't going to use the SE 180, you are just as well getting a 170 of another brand.
I haven't replaced my tire yet. When I do, I'm going to get an indy to install the SE 180 on my bike. At one time, I was looking into getting a 180 so I could go ahead and change my tire and get my chrome pulley cover installed. But, I just went ahead and dropped the wheel and installed the pulley cover myself.
