High 70s.... dead battery....
Going to hit high 70s today; gear up for the ride into work..... dead battery. Probably been 4-6 weeks since I last rode. Being the n00b that I am, I tried the car battery jumper thing; a friend said I was an idiot and probably broke something trying that. Didn't work - rolled bike back in garage.
I'll RTFM and do some searches, probably need a trickle charger; just pissed that I missed a great opportunity to ride this morning.

yup - you may have fried something.
But...may have gotten very lucky. Charge the batt and put it in. If it fires up - ride.
If not, you may not get it running again until the regulator, stator, or starter is replaced. Check your fuses too - all of them.
