I'm new to the forum so please forgive me if this question has been answered in detail already. I have a 2008 Superglide Custom and was wondering if anyone has installed the chrome swingarm themselves and the degree od difficulty. Would it be wiser to let the dealer do it to make sure the alignments/adjustments are exactly correct? Looks like it could get pretty involved. Thanks everyone!!!

 

Not chrome and not an 08 but

I did it on my 99 FXDL and it was pretty simple. Removed the tire, unbolted all the stuff attached, removed the swing arm bolt, pay attention to where the spacers go, re pack bearings install them in the new swing arm reinstall all....

took an hour maybe

Now, go buy the service manual........
