Kuryakyn Extended Forward Controls and engine guard??
I have a 2007 FXD with Kuryakyn extended forward controls on it. Does anyone know if there is an engine guard that will work?? I really despise engine guards but with a 36" inseam, I really need a different peg position and mustache bars are just plain hideous. I bought the Harley guard for forward controls, but the plates on the Kury's are just too dang thick and wide Anyone have any ideas?
RE: Kuryakyn Extended Forward Controls and egine guard??
I have tried that, yes. The only problem is that my brake and shift lever are always in the way so I have to **** my feet out at an angle. It is actually pretty comfortable, but day before yesterday I rode out to Yakima from Tacoma, (a little over 300 miles)and by the time I got home I was pretty stove up. The other issue is that the Kury's have a single bolt system for holding the peg on and when I tried using their cruise arm it caused everything to kind fall down and hit the pavement. Not terribly safe. I'm pretty frustrated at this point, but I'll keep on pluggin
RE: Kuryakyn Extended Forward Controls and egine guard??
Well, Thrill, I took your advice and went down to the harley dealer and snatched up some Kury switchblades. They are super comfy, but I still have that problem where since the weight of my heel drops below the pivot point it makes the mount spin. See pix below to understand my boggle. I'm thinking if I throw a spot weld on the underside of the barrel the peg mounts to on the bracet side, that should solve my problem and keep it from moving unless anyone has a better option, possibly a bracket or something that'll git r dun??
