I am Looking for a engine guard for my 05 super glide. I have found some but they say they are not compatable with my forward controls. Anyone know of a manufacturer that is compatable.

I didn't see any when I was looking. I am vertically challenged though, so finally decided on the engine guards and pegs on the guard. You might try Lindby and see if they have any. Sorry not to be of much help, just didn't want you to feel ignored. Art

I have the HD engine guard on my '04 WG and a friend just picked up his '06 SG Custom and also had the HD guard put on it. He also had forward controls put on before picking up the bike.

H-D makes an engine guard for bikes with and without forward controls. The one for forward controls has a bracket that bolts to the down tubes of the frame, the non forward control bars bolts to the place on the frame where the highway pegs mount.

Thanks for the replies. I went to my local HD dealer to follow up according to him there is available an engine guard for mid controls, and one for extended controls. However according to him the one for extended controls is only compatable with the Wide Glide and not for my 05 FXD with the added HD forward controls. If anyone has or knows of an 05 FXD with forward controls that has an HD engine guard please post the part number. I ran across an 04 FXD with an engine guard but he had converted to wide glide forks.

I'm having same problem - did you ever find some that fit your 05 Super Glide? I've been looking for some to fit my hubby's bike since he bought it. No such luck. It's very frustrating. We even ordered a couple from the H-D dealership just to see if we could somehow rig them, but no such luck. Thanks!

I think the WG bars will fit.
The problem is that the brake pedal is close to the crash bar so HD is covering their butts by saying it only fits the WG but I think it will fit.
