Default half helmet mod

I was thinking of buying one of those stupid watermelon half helmets and cutting out the center to be able to lower the helmet that 1 1/2 in, what do you all think about this thought?

My brother has a Daytona half helmet in small.
It doesn't fit me, but the next size up uses the larger shell.
I actually thought about getting the small and shaving the foam down also.
As long as you don't take too much out...otherwise you have just made a novelty helmet!

Helmets should NEVER be modified! If you can't find an acceptable DOT approved helmet get a hat from the novelty isle.

A little bit of shaping shouldn't hurt.&nbsp\\; Not everyone's head is shaped the same so it may be necessary.
My brother is a Bert and I'm an Ernie!

You may as well get a novelty helmet, the padding is in there for more than just comfort. It is also for absorbing impact.
