Default How to get fixed???

When I got the 95" upgrade on my 06 Street Bob the mechanic told me the crossover port on the right side of the gas tank was blocked from being welded. I can never burn a full tank - limits range. Question is how can I get this fixed. This is a bike I bought last summer, so no warranty. Any thoughts or recommendations are welcome. Thanks

If it were my problem, I would pull the tank off to verify the situation.

drain the fuel, and after removing the rubber line I would try to drill through the weld.

It may be just some weld splater and just snap right off.

Is there any danger drilling on a tank with fumes in it?

Default Tank Drilling

Do you know how to inert the tank ? You can do it with nitrogen. Find a local welding/air/gas supplier and talk to them. You might be able to get the nitrogen in a small tank like a gas propane tank for a grill. Drain the gas out of the tank and blow compressed air though it for awhile. Then fill with nitrogen and drill. Just make sure you blow the compressed air in it while OUTDOORS.

I don't know about yours but mine is at a 90 degree bend, you would have to go at it from the inside. May just be crap in the tank so try to blow it out first.
