Let's see your ghost flames
I'm working on thoughts for a paint job on my FXD and thinking about using some ghost flames. I'd love to see some examples of what my brothers and sisters have done to their bikes.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Man I love the Idea of the flames, not to overdone just to add to the look. I think HD owners have gottin so much into adding crome and bling to their bike they forgot about the classic 70's paint jobs. I think that a mild custom paint reminiscent of the old 70's chopper days would be cool. I also want to do some some work on my bike at some point. Great idea though Man.
Go for it James....flames is the $hit!!

Your console looks awesome.
I'd show you my ghost flames, but, you can't see them... they're ghosts!
What color is your bike? I think my favorite ghost flame job is black, with a chameleon type paint, very over reduced to create ghost flames that you cannot see at all unless you catch the light just right.
I saw a very cool white on white ghost flame job on a car that I thought was very cool.
I also like to use a tweaked variation of the original color to do flames or other graphics. For example, on a red bike, take some of the original color, add some pearl, crushed mirror, crushed glass, colored crystals, or maybe a small amount of flake, then over reduce and shoot your graphics.
A variation of that would be to shoot your base color, then shoot your graphics in a similar color candy (i.e. blue paint, graphics in blue candy).
Another cool trend I've seen recently is to mix gloss & flat (i.e. paint is gloss, graphics are flat).
