adding to the stable
the ride home was all freeway yesterday so I rode up in the hills today to try some twisties and overall I am very pleased. like the way it takes the bumps and the extra power is a big improvement over my 88 inch FXD. but I'm glad i didn't sell the Super Glide because I had to slow way down in the tighter corners on the RK. scraped the right floor board twice in about 10 miles and when i folded it up to look at it I noticed it had already been ''sharpened'' many times before. I was ridding two up and i haven't checked or experimented with the air in the shocks yet so maybe that can be improved.
i posted this over in the touring forum also so for all you other multiple personalities out there who had to read this twice...sorry

I did just the opposite, I have a 1999 Road King Classic that I bought new. I have the big bore kit and hot cams. I went out two years ago and bought a 2007 Street Bob, I love them both. I sold my leather bags on the RK and put on hard bags. Have fun.
Jay:
You got your Police bike in Bellevue? Last year I was looking at the old Police Road Kings at Downtown H-D in Tukwila ... was thinking about trading in the Super Glide then.
The extra power is noticeable, but I guess I've gotten mine where it's a tall man's ride. The Road King seemed a little cramped. I liked the sprung solo saddle on the one I test rode, but I don't think they all had the same seat. Does yours have the spring solo seat? [Just looked back at the photo ... I guess not.] The one I tried out had heated grips, too ... yours come with 'em?
I like the hard bags, but the round **** seems a little out of place (like it was thrown on without much thought for how it would look). I thought that would have to be addressed, had I bought one. If you take it off, you'll have to make sure you weather seal the hole.
Now that I've done about half (or so) of the mods I need to convert my Dyna to a "bagger," I don't feel as compelled to make the trade I guess.
Enjoy the new ride ... you've got the best of both worlds.

p.s. did you get a windshield with it? I like the blacked-out nacelle ... they have black fork upper (P/N 45591-02) and lower (P/N 46546-03) sliders you can install, as well.

hey Priest,
the one with the solo (it had an air bladder under the seat) still on that I sat on was a little to high for me to sit on flat footed (5'9'' tall) so I'm glad that this one had a different seat. yep heated grips and the dealer put a new wind shield and passenger floor boards on while i was filling out paper work. i kinda like the **** on top of the bag so you can access while sitting on the bike. also just discovered it has a Power Commander to go along with the Rinehart true duals.
thanks for the part #s they will come in handy for my deKROMing project.
