Well, I am far from an expert but I think your dealer is full of sh**.

Whatever added torque your pipes and power commander added, does not happen until AFTER the bike is actually running.

Should report this kind of crap to the MoCo.

I'd start looking for another dealer.

You do know the stock compensator is a weak POS..... The SE compensator comes stock on the Rocker I think now, and is what all the 96" bikes should come with off the showroom floor. Yes, the claim is that the SE compensator is for higher torque motors.... like motors that are 103" or 110", with cams. With those pipes and a PC, you mighta got 5 extra ponies and ft/lbs. The dealer is full of it, and should install those parts free of charge, including labor. I think they are trying to avoid a warranty fix.

Call the MoCo and launch into a class A bitch fit.

I installed the SE Compensator. Its been few months lots of startup's no bang. I do have a higher torque engine (107ft/lbs at 2200rpms) and was told by every dealer I talked to that I didn't need it. It seems I did.

The noise you describe is in the starter motor. The starter motor on my 07 FXD failed completely ( it would'nt turn over at all) about 2-3 months after I bought the bike. The service manager told me it seem to be a fault but very few bikes seem to be affected. It was fixed straight away and it's been fine ever since.

Default starter noise

Well just to update, after 2 weeks in the shop the dealer installed the S.E. starter clutch, and a compensator kit,and it starts like a new. It runs like a champ with my power comander and V&H big shots. It was all covered under warranty, and believe it or not they finished it just in time for me to ride to Leesburg the next morning. I think that one post hit the nail on the head. It's amazing what screaming eagle parts should be stock but are not on my dyna.Im not sure why they didn't fix it right the first time, instead of blaming my Power comander.Well I guess you can say they gave me a happy ending!...lol
